Lafayette Tech - Tell Us About Yourself!

Lightning Talks for the Holidays! We will be meeting at the newly-opened Confluence Coworking space (who will be graciously providing food+drinks).

Who are you? What problem are you trying to solve? What feedback would be helpful? You've got 5 minutes to tell us!

Here is how we're doing it:

• Create your slides

• Put them here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-GAcX82HHepSUNHQjBvSXhHeG8&usp=sharing

• Sign up when you get there and we'll go in the order of who has signed up.

All slides will be shown from Anna's computer

• Bonus points for bringing holiday cookies :)

NOTE - We're meeting early to avoid the holidays.

Thanks Quent! That snow looks good! I am following the Jon Saints develop-by-readme method, and have a GitHub repository at https://github.com/dfsweeney/Flo... for the code.

After the meetup I figured out how to make the individual birds interact with each other using UIKit Dynamics, so there's some basic flocking behavior now. I was talking to Tom and Kristin right before I left--I think this looks kind of realistic, but does not really reflect actual bird behavior at all, even for birds that are oblong and blue. If you have the IOS 7 SDK installed you should be able to just check out and run the code in the simulator to see it. I will also attach a screenshot. Thanks for listening everybody and thanks Confluence Coworking for hosting us!

The sprinkler system went off in my building today and made a mess of things. I look forward to meeting you all next time when everything is dry!

    Enjoyed the meetup very much.

I ran across this http://youtu.be/9H1gRQ6S7gg from Disney about making computer generated snow, which is an example of the bird swarm, particle simulation stuff that was discussed at the meeting.
