I enjoyed meeting the first-timers and seeing people from the last happy hour.

That's one of the best things about this group. And, I actually try various ways to foster it. I love that there's always a "core" group of people you know from past meetups, but there's also always a lot of new people to meet. I love it! :)

Good to see you too, Julie. If only I could have gotten a hug....sigh.... lol

Thanks everyone for coming out! I think "Winery Night" is going to be on our list of standards from now on. It was a different tone than a "happy hour", and I liked it! We already have the next one scheduled at the end of May at a different winery. It'll be posted soon. And the search continues for more wine venues to check out. Hey, you know, I want to learn more about wine. So I can't think of a better way to do that than to surround myself with 75 great, fun friends....and a winery! :)

Hello, what time will the tour start?

    April 25, 2014

    • Laid-Back L.

I don't think there's a specific "tour" time. Jon has just offered to give "tours of the winery", presumably running throughout the evening. You'll have to bear with us. This is the first time here, and some of this we're making up as we go along. lol But there is no, "Tour begins at 7p". The only time for anything would be the drawing for the bottle giveaways. And that will be around 7:30-8pmish

A wine tasting party? That's right up my alley! BUT I won't be free until after 7:45 - 8pm. Would it be too late to show up?

We should still be there. If in doubt, call the Meetup line at[masked], and check :)

Also, since this is so popular, we already have the next one at a different winery lined up for next month on a Saturday ;)

Just joined the group - look forward to meeting everyone. Love wine, but don't know all that much about it. . . Recently single after two marriages, one for 20 years, one for 10. Am not used to being out on my own, so I'm sure alcohol of any type will help;)

Welcome to the group, Joe. Don't worry about coming out. We're pretty casual and easy going. If you're going to the Winery Meetup, make sure you RSVP so we know to expect you....

Thunderbird!!! 100% grain alcohol, a plug of chewing tobacco, tad of kerosene and you have THUNDERBIRD!!! I was once a paramedic for Denver General Hospital and whoa what those folks on Larimer near 20th at Herb's Hideout would put together!!! I believe some of it was embalming fluid.

Is Annie Green Springs still around?

      April 21, 2014

  • Laid-Back L.

Okay, it's time to admit it. I know almost NOTHING about wine. So, I'm going to need a volunteer to be my mentor for the evening. Someone that really knows wine, and that can hold my hand through the evening. Someone that is knowledgeable and can help me out and instruct me. Someone that is patient and a good teacher. And, of course......someone female, cute and single ;) lol

Well my first wine tasting was in Napa. But not sure I know much about wine.

no worries. There will be a lot of people that know a lot, I'm sure. And a lot of people that won't and will want to ask. It just seems like a good setup for a social evening to me :)

Hhhhmmm......here's a thought.... we could do costumes and call it "Whinos at the Winery!" (an idea that came to me, when I was just looking at my old, dirty, ripped jeans and t-shirt with the paint splotches that I can't wear anymore :)

I would like to point out that this IS still a laid back event. Despite it being a "private party" at a "winery", you don't need to dress. Well, okay. We'd like it if you wore pants. Probably shoes too. But remember that unless otherwise specified, "jeans attire" is always the preferred dress code in this group if I have anything to say about. And since I do, it is. :)

I've been told by many members of my own Meetup group that I would fit in very well with this group. I'm so laid back I sometimes squat on my spurs. I'm with Joe Carl King and will be a DD for anyone who needs one but I need to meet a person who dresses up like Joe and someone who takes the name Party Princess!!!

    April 7, 2014

I'm not a wine drinker, but if you ask need a dd that night, I'm in

Sorry....I cant make this one. I work until 7 that night.

    April 5, 2014

    • Laid-Back L.

I don't think we'll be giving away the bottles until about 8p ;)
