This ride will take us through Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, and Highland Park where we'll enjoy roadside prairies, bluffs above Lake Michigan, sprawling forest preserves, the campus of Lake Forest College and historic Fort Sheridan. This is mainly a road ride although approximately 12 miles of our route will consist of packed crushed stone and paved trails. Just as we near the halfway point, we'll make a stop at Arriva Dolce Gelato & Coffee Bar to enjoy some tasty fuel al fresco.
All riders should be able to maintain a rolling speed of 11-14 mph.
On Saturday evening, I will email my cell phone number to all those who have RSVPed "Yes" by that time - if you are not present AND have not contacted me prior to 8:00 am on Sunday morning, I will assume you are not coming. As always, if you RSVP "Yes" but your plans change, please kindly update your RSVP to "No" on the Meetup site before the scheduled ride time.
At Lake Bluff overlooking Lake Michigan
We will meet in the northeast parking lot of Carmel CHS (turn off of Route 176 onto Carmel Parkway - first parking lot on your left). Please arrive a few minutes early so you are ready to ride at 8 am!
