Bears Training Camp Ride (Larry)

I know that this is nowhere near Lake County, but we're all Bears fans....  Right?!?!

Let's head on out to Bourbonais for a ride, a potluck picnic lunch, and Bears training camp practice....  We will ride the Kankakee River Trail, enjoy our picnic lunch, and head on over to Olivet Nazarene University to take in a Bears practice....

We will meet at the Kankakee River State Park at 10:30....  Mingle and sign waivers....  We will roll out at 11:00....  The ride is approximately 10.5 miles in each direction....  We should be back shortly after 1:00PM....  The gates for training camp open at 2:30 for a 3:15 practice, so will have a little over an hour for lunch....  Then we will watch our beloved Chicago Bears under the direction of their new coach in one of their last training camp practices before they break camp a few days later....  Camp ends at 5:00 and then we will head our separate ways....

Please comment in your RSVP with what you will be bringing to the picnic lunch....

Trail Type / Bike Type

This is a crushed limestone trail and hybrid or mountain bikes would work best.

Transportation/Parking

There is a lot at the Kankakee River State Park with ample parking. Feel free to arrange carpools amongst yourselves....

What You Should Bring

Bike (in good working order), Helmet, Extra Inner Tube, Portable Air Pump (or CO2 cartridges), Tire Levers, Sunscreen, Lock (if stopping for dinner), Money (if stopping for dinner), Cell phone (recommended), Photo ID (recommended), Insurance Card (recommended), Munchies / Power Bars / Trail Mix (recommended for any long ride without a break for food.)

Waiver / Helmet Rule

Each rider will have to sign a waiver for each ride (I will supply the waivers). All riders must wear a helmet for the duration of the ride.

Weather

I plan to do this ride unless the weather conditions make it unsafe or extremely uncomfortable.

Organizer Contact Info

I will e-mail out my contact info the night before the ride to those who RSVP....  If anyone wants to RSVP after the RSVPs close, e-mail me through the Meetup site and I will e-mail you back my contact info and you can still join us....  You can always just show up without an RSVP, but if you don't have the contact info and end up running late or something, you might miss us....  If everyone is there and ready to leave a few minutes early, we might leave without you if I don't know that you are just showing up....

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
