Join me for the seventh annual Associated Firefighters Fall Fifty (or AFFF) to support the McHenry County Firefighters. I have done this ride in the past and really enjoyed it. The plan is to meet at 7:00 and once everyone is registered and/or checked in, we can start riding. If you register online by the end of September it is only $25.00. After that, it goes up to $30.00 until October 10th. Day of the ride registration is available for $35.00. Registration includes food at the rest stops and SAG support and a post-ride Pig Roast. At this point I plan to ride the 62 mile route. If we have people wanting to ride different distances, we can split into groups. The ride is all on roads, so plan your bike choice accordingly.... Feel free to work any carpool arrangements that you might want amongst ourselves. I would be looking to carpool (either as a driver or a passenger).... I will be coming from Glenview and I can carry one other bicycle along with my own. From the AFFF website:

A bicycle benefit ride in
Northern McHenry County
Thank you to the riders who joined us on Sunday October 14, 2012, for the SIXTH ANNUAL AFFF Bike Ride. We appreciate the many kind comments and encouragement to host the event again next year, and we will!
Once again this year we will treat all riders to an old-fashioned "Pig Roast" following their rides at no extra cost. Plan your ride accordingly, as the Pig Roast will begin serving at 11:30 a.m. We hope that you will join us on Sunday, October 13th 2013, come rain or shine, at the Richmond Township Fire Protection District's Fire Station for the seventh annual Richmond Associated Firefighter's Fall Fifty Bike Ride, hosted by the Richmond Firefighter's Association. This year we will feature the same routes into southern Wisconsin from 20 miles up to 62 miles (100km). The metric century route has over 3,000 feet of climbing. If you like hills, you'll like this route.
Routes are 62, 50, 36, 25, and 20 miles. The terrain is flat to gently rolling with an occasional hill. (The 62-mile route has some BIG hills!) Family rides are still encouraged to ride the Prairie Trail (crushed limestone) which is located right across the street from our fire station. All road routes will have rest stops with food and beverages. SAG wagon drivers will patrol the routes to assist you if you need help. On site bicycle support will be provided courtesy of The Bike Haven (McHenry, IL).
