RAGBRAI 2014 Informational Meeting

Are you considering riding RAGBRAI or would just like to hear more about it? If so, please join us for lively conversation over food and libations at The Beer Market!

Often described as a rolling Mardi Gras, the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) is a seven-day bicycle ride across the state. Heading into it's 42nd year, RAGBRAI is the oldest, largest and longest bicycle touring event in the world!

This year's route is the 2nd flattest and 3rd shortest in RAGBRAI's 42 year history - a perfect time to join in the fun!

I attended the CUBS RAGBRAI luncheon Sunday. Saw some new interested riders likely joining the ride there. Told them how much fun it will be. Also, it was good seeing Derick Bonewitz and Norm there, and others. By the way, skiing at Tahoe (Heavenly & Squaw Valley) last week was great. Thanks in advance for asking. :)

No video; rather Brad Pendergast spoke for about an hour after the food part done. Stuff we already know, but new people now briefed. Norm is all healed from the broken collarbone and ready to go.

They suggested we recruit riders to ensure we have the critical mass necessary for the CUBS ride. I think they have about 36 now.

  • Pam W.

FYI.......there are now 33 registered riders for the CUBS.

I'm heading to Lake Tahoe to ski a week on Feb 1 so can't make the LCBG RAGBRAI Information Meeting on Feb 1. However, I plan to attend the CUBS luncheon on Feb 9 since I return on feb 8. Hope to see some riding friends from RAGBRAI 2013 there. Cheers, John Wiemhoff

I am planning on doing RAGBRAI this year - not sure about Sat?? Lots of work. Do you have a support Truck ??

    1 · January 26, 2014

    • Kathi T.

Andy, that's awesome! Yes, the RAGBRAI organization has SAG vehicles running the route. If you can make it Saturday, do check out the full RAGBRAI ride listing at http://www.meetup.com.... You will see that the team we ride with - CUBS :-) - is holding a Kickoff Brunch on Sun, 02/09 - that is very informative as well.

      January 26, 2014

    • Kathi T.

And you don't have to be registered for the ride in order to attend the brunch - anyone is welcome!
