Weekly Wednesday Evening Ride (North Shore Bike Path - 20 Miles Out-and-Back)

This ride will continue year round as weather permits. Pace will be 11-14 mph. For your safety as well as that of those around you, please come equipped with front and back lights.

We will ride the full length of this asphalt and crushed stone rail-to-trail from Mundelein to Lake Forest - 20 miles round trip. If you're looking to expand your trail options, this is the trail to check out - it runs parallel to Route 176 and connects to the Des Plaines River and Middlefork Forest Preserve Trails, the Skokie Valley Bikeway, and ends at the Robert McClory Trail.

Bonus: This trail passes within feet of the local Dairy Dream - a nice treat during the summer months as we near the end of our ride.

RSVPs will close to new responses 24 hours prior to the meetup; after that time I will email all attendees my cell phone number. If you have RSVPed "Yes" but are not present AND have not contacted me by the ride time outlined below, I will assume you are not coming. As always, if you have RSVPed "Yes" but your plans change prior to the ride, please be sure to change your RSVP to "No" on the Meetup site as I do make a last minute check of attendees.

We will meet in the northeast parking lot of Carmel CHS (turn off of Route 176 onto Carmel Parkway - first parking lot on your left). As this is a weekday evening and time is tight for most members, we will begin bicycling no later than 6:00pm - please be prompt.

Great trip, but I need more insulation on toes and fingers.
