Welcome to the Lake Erie Moose Society Blogger Meetup! Whether you blog for fun or as part of your work, you'll find kindred spirits here, and if you're just thinking about writing on the Web, stop on by and see what it's all about.
Our meetings start with a round of introductions (if you have a specific question or problem, that's a great time to mention it) and then we spend anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour discussing a specific topic about blogging. Most meetings have no specific end time, so there is plenty of opportunity to break into small groups to socialize or dig deeper into a topic. You'll meet people with a wide range of technical expertise, from hobbyists all the way to folks who make a living programming the Web.
This group has a long history dating all the way back to 2002, when blogging caught on as a way to participate in local politics. Before too long, "Social Media" became important in marketing circles, and the group swelled with new kinds of expertise. Through it all, personal blogging kept going strong, and many writers found technical fixes, inspiration, and a great community in the group. For two and a half years we renamed ourselves the Lake Erie Moose Society and organized our meetings outside of meetup.com, but as of 2012 we're back.
