  • Hey thanks, I really hope to make it to a meetup. Are they always on Tuesdays for the Lake / Kenosha County meetups? I work until 5, and my wife has school until 9pm, and if I went my son would be at the sitter's all day

  • Hi Patrick,
Thank you for the "Hello". I look forward to tomorrow's (Tuesday) meetup. Could you please fill me on the etiquette of things, i.e., do we come fed or will we eat during the Meetup? I guess that is my only concern right now, I hate missing a meal. :) Thanks for your help.

  • I'm ensuring that I get a chance to greet everyone. Big time thanks for all your help though, seriously! Needed a swift kick. Same thing goes for LKPUG, if you need anything, let me know.

  • thanks for the hello Patrick.......... i'm looking forward to meeting some people, and get some advice on where I should start on my quest to be a beginning coder. There are so many things I want to build. And KNOW how to make changes to those systems and platforms to me is like having the keys to the kingdom.

  • It's good to get to know everyone socially and professionally - but I would say also augment that with a vision discussion. See what people want to get out of the group, and then make that your goal. Otherwise, if you do an alternating schedule, try to keep the alternating schedule equal too. Yah, I don't think Panera would be that great :) Check local libraries, etc. :) Let me know how it goes!

  • Hi! I just joined. I'll need a ride...you can reach me at [masked] or [masked]. If Rockford is too far away I understand.

  • It gets cut off! :) The other important thing I'd say is focus on community. Try to have some PHP related topics but focus on getting to know the group too. That solidifies it and makes it easier for people to be more willing to present. Good luck and let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

  • Hi Patrick and thanks for the note. Logistics are an open game for your location and your group. The first few times we experimented with things and found our groove. I actually co-organize two groups and the methodologies are different. For MKEPUG, we always do the same day each month at the same location. For MWDM we do somewhat same days, but they change, and different locations each time. It really depends on your group's dynamic.
