I am so excited about this venture. You have no idea how interesting and beautiful this place is if you haven't visited it before. It is one of Atlanta's finest homes, beautifully landscaped, exquisitely decorated and represents an impressive lifestyle in Atlanta in the 1920's.
We will tour the grounds and interior Swan House and visit a wonderful more modest farm, called the Smith Family home, that was a little less prestigious and more realistic of earlier Atlanta. We will also see a visiting museum about the Civil War with a curve that suggest what would have happened IF the south had won the war.
We pay at admission which includes all of the above for $11.00 per person. Please remember to tell admissions that you are a member of the LAKE LANIER SOCIAL CLUB. For further information if you want to learn more about this adventure you can call Vernoica at [masked]. She works in admissions.
For those who wish to treat themselves further, there is an elegant restaurant called The Swan Coach House on the grounds that was once the carriage house of the estate. The restaurant is a little pricey for a lunch but oh so beautiful, interesting and wonderful food. ($20.00 to $30.00 each including tips.
I hope to see many of you there and remember .....much of the fun is that we share these experiences together with our circle of friends.
