You could add to the photo contest "best body of work". Set the rules at x number of photos and spell out exactly what constitutes a "body" of work. Perhaps one award not first, second etc. to keep the numbers down. I could help you define a "body".

Hi Robert,

Good to hear from you.  Everyone is working harder and it shows.  I'll let everyone know your comments.
I'll be contacting you in January to see what we might plan for next summer to give classes another go.
I will be Club president again next year (because no one else wants it).  Will need to see what club members want but some thoughts I have are:  selecting an aspect of photography and dedicating the year to
getting excellent at it; selecting a subject for a personal project for the year and producing a group of photos or book of it (remember what you said about 'a body of work' vs. a collection of snapshots).  Any other ideas would be welcomed.

Feel free to comment on any of the photos posted on the Meetup site; people always welcome the feedback.

Have a Happy Holiday Season,

Tricia

It was nice to see the winning photos again. I enjoyed judging all the work this summer and thought everyone did a great job. It is always difficult to pick out just a few photos for the awards from so many good images. Keep up the good work everyone!
