Staunton State Park at Level 3 pace

Staunton State Park is a new park easy to get to from Denver, just head west on 285 and look for the big brown sign west 6 miles west of Conifer.  There is an entry fee of $7 if you don't already have a state park sticker in your windshield so consider carpooling. We will assemble at the 2nd parking lot and then ride the Staunton Ranch trail up to the Marmot Passage trail, take that down to the pond, come back to the intersection via the Bugling Elk trail, then left on the Border Line trail and back to the parking lot via the Mason Creek trail. the last 3 or 4 miles are mostly downhill, nice reward after all the climbing. Total about 15 miles. I am a slow rider so I am creating this as a level 3.

I haven't ridden with this group in a few years (since the inaugural year) and had a nice ride. Thank Ken for the ride and post ride snacks and beverages. This group is motivation to ride some more before ski season starts!

Awesome ride and great group, perfect way to start the weekend! The views and incredibly fun downhill helps clear the memory of all that climbing - although none of it was too steep :-)

When I try to pull the address up on Google, I'm not sure I'm seeing a lot/trailhead and it's asking "did you mean..." Is there an address that's a little more exact for the lot we'll be starting at?

There are picnic tables at the park. I would be willing to pick up a cooler of brown pops for after the ride for those that want to hang out for a while.
