Level 4 @ East West Regional Trail

It's supposed to be nice on Saturday so let's do a local trail that's fun to ride.

The East West trail runs from Highlands Ranch to Lonetree.  It's an out and back type of trail.  I plan on starting out at Pronghorn Park and going about 12 - 15 miles out before turning around. Starting from Highlands Ranch gives us the uphill part going out and the down hill part going back.  This trail is not technical, there are no water bars, it's just smooth trail.

This is a great trail for just spinning and getting some miles in.

I will be running this at a level 4, which means I will be moving at a good pace and there will be fewer stops.  I'd like to be able to get this trail done in a little over 2 hours.  Overall we should hit 24 - 30 miles.

I allow no guests on my rides. I purposefully make my meetups with no guests. A guest has never read the meetup disclosure, and a guest has never read our groups waiver. If you have a friend that wants to ride with us have them sign up. Its really easy and takes no time at all. I will not allow riders that aren't part of our group. That's my decision as an organizer for this group. I hope to see you all on the trail.

Thanks everyone for a great ride and allowing me to share the fun trails in the BackCountry with you all. Scott, sorry we got seperated James went back to look for you and didn't see you anywhere on the power lines so I am glad you found some fun riding. You would have loved the stuff we came home on so next time hopefully you can come along when we do another ride on the HR trails. Keep turning the pedals!

This was a new trail for me, but it was nice. Alot of "rollercoaster" hills. I did manage to get separated from the group and did some extra hill climbing above the power substation.

I'm sorry we lost you Scott. We had a pretty fast moving group and it's never in my intension to lose anyone. I hope you still had fun. I'll catch you on the next ride.

No problem at all James. I'll do a better job of keeping up the pace on the next ride. Thanks for organizing and leading the ride.

This started out as a normal ride but went totally impromptu. We did the East West Trail to McArthur and then spun the loops in the Backcountry since we had a HR resident with us. We ended up doing mostly backcountry trails all the way back to the car. Totaling 27 miles. This was a fun ride. I had a great group of friends and new riders I’d totally ride with again. Thanks for coming out!

We have to show respect for the trail and for the other people that are using it. To have a larger group then 10 is irresponsible and a bad representation of our group. It's our duty to keep a good name out there for mountain bikers. We don't want to end up banned or having to get permits every time we want to ride as a group. If you don' t make the list this trip there will be more. I plan rides all the time.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
