What do you find most interesting about The Land Ops Adventure Group?

I've always wanted to learn how to be a Ham operator and I like the motto learn by doing. I enjoy doing land navigation exercises and it seems like a good, fun way to expand on my skill sets.

Do you own a vehicle you can take off road? If so what kind?

No, I have a car but it wouldn't do well off road.

Do you own a GPS device for geocaching? If so, what kind?

No, but I was planning on getting one as a back up for my map and compass.

Are you a licensed Ham radio operator? If YES, please give call sign. If NO, do use any other two way radio communications such as FRS/GMRS?

No. I've had some experience with PRC-117 & 152s but nothing on the civilian side. My technical knowledge was limited to loading crypto, checking timing and loading frequencies.

How did you hear about Land Ops?

Meet Up

Introduction

Just saw this meet up and went to the website, it looks like a great opportunity to learn some real valuable skill sets. I'm 27 and love being in the outdoors, did 5 years in the Marine Corps infantry (0311).
