Thank you for your interest in Landry's Triathlon Club!
We are triathlon club based in the Western suburbs. We have a diverse membership with a wide range of ages and abilities, as well as levels of competitiveness, who live in towns from Wellesley to Millbury. A large number of us live in the Framingham, Hopkinton, Ashland and Southborough areas.
Our open water trainings take place primarily in the Ashland Reservoir, on Mon, Wed and Fri mornings. Distances range from ½ mi to 2 mi or more, depending on who’s up for what. We also coordinate run and bike training at other times during the week, including early morning track workouts and the 11.3 mi Pat Bell Time Trial on Tue evenings at 6:30p, leaving from the Southborough Library. You can learn more about the Pat Bell TT on Facebook.
Our annual membership fee is currently $25. The link to pay dues is: https://www.bikereg.com/27665.
Most years we offer our members club-logo'd shwag (a hat, hoodie, bike shirt, etc.) This year we’re designing a windbreaker. The club will subsidize about 50% and members will pitch in about $20, so that we break even.
This year we have designated the Ashland Lions Olympic Tri on June 21, the Mass State Championships Olympic Tri on July 12 and Cranberry Trifest on Aug 23rd as team races. We will have the Landry's Bike 12'x12' canopy at these races for members and their guests to congregate under. Members will be at many other races throughout the season, including sprints, Olympics, ½ irons, and ironman races (2 at Mont Tremblant and 1 at Lake Placid), as well as at road (running) races and certain biking events such as reach the beach and the Harpoon brewer ride. Although we did not do so this year, we typically enter one or two teams at TriMania in the beginning of the season (at MIT), and regardless of whether we do this, many of us attended TriMania.
We have pre-season and post-season BBQs, and we have been known to meet for a drink on a random week night as well. We also tend to share a good deal of information on training, nutrition, race expectations, fitness, recovery, etc.
Some members are also into Cyclocross, Aquabike, and trail running. Also, we get discounts at Landry’s and other sponsors.
We have begun to make arrangements with Landry’s to host off-season bike training in the stores, open only to Tri club members where we’ll bring our own bikes and hook them up to trainers.
Feel free to message me if you wish to learn more. Happy training and racing!
