I have some other stuff already planned for the weekend but would love to participate. Is this a show up, join a team, and code till it's done type event (like startup weekend) or will there be opportunities to participate if I show up Sat afternoon/evening?

At the last weekend, there were plenty of opportunities for developers to jump in and help out. I'd just disclose your availability when you sign up.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
