The Psychology of Creativity and Slipping Past Your Inner Critic

You won’t believe the clarity and creativity you can find within yourself when writing with pen & paper. Alyse Sweeney will share the free-flow writing method featured in her Write to Glow workshops, where the aim is to slip past the inner critic and write where the energy is. See how free-flow writing can help energize your writing projects and unleash authentic and powerful writing.

A great presentation by Alyse Sweeney.
I especially enjoyed the mini-writing workshop.
Surprises in the exercise as the subconscious stands up and hollers.

Seeing as your asking for people to bring pen and paper will we be expected to write something. This fact has put me off coming as I'm still a little brain dead.

I'm with you Joyce. I do many un-lovely things in private. Writing is one of them.

Very good Oct. meeting! Alyse Sweeny offers lots of good spess-sif-fis-city. Now a self-serving reminder: Ron MacKenzie and I, John Hill, have just written a book online that we hope helps writers decide the first tough publishing issue, titled SELF-PUBLISHING OR TRADITIONAL? PIXELS OR PAPER? If you go to Amazon.com and type those words above in capitals, you'll see and be able to buy our book for $2.99 downloadable to Kindles and more. 122 pages that will change your life, you'll be a better person, you'll be more knowledgeable about yourself, your book, publishing, you'll floss regularly, you'll be wiser, wow, what everyone wouldn't give just to be you. Questions? Contact John Hill at [masked].

Alyse was fantastic and it was so great to see so many new faces from the Writers of Southern Nevada Conference last weekend. I always love it when the speakers put us to work, and Alyse had a lot of valuable advice that I'll be adding to my writing routine. In case anyone was interested in the free Future of Storytelling class I mentioned at the beginning of the meeting, here's the link for more information: https://iversity.org/c/6?r=25b49 You can also like us on Facebook here to get updates on all LVWG happenings here: https://www.facebook.com/LasVegasWritersGroup

I enjoyed the meeting very much. Next time I'll arrive earlier so I can meet more of you. The speaker had plenty of interesting things to say and I had fun with the prompt. Looking forward to the next meeting!

Me again! LOL! Has anyone used Create Space's Comprehensive Copy Edit service and if so have you ever been told you need Comprehensive Copy Edit Plus? Or am I just that bad of a writer? Any help or input would be wonderful. Thanks once again.

Mary, Thank you so much. It is so silly. I have so much work to do. Now that I SEE what is expected. I was purposely over writing and did not know it was a bad thing. LOL Even down to ignoring grammar rules. Thinking I was RIGHT! Wow! Sometimes I wonder about myself. I have a lot of work ahead of me. Now I am wondering if this mess is even worth the bother? We will see. And thank you for the info. Everyone here has been so kind. All my best!
