How long have you called yourself a writer?

I have always thought of myself as a writer, but only called myself one when I got serious about publication.

What changes would you like to see in your writing craft/talent with this group?

I would like to get feedback from others as to my strong points and the ones that need work. I would like to be more consistent with writing every day. I don't always do that.

What writing rituals/habits do you have, if any?

After getting a much needed cup of coffee, I sit at my desk and try to brainstorm on my novel. I am still struggling with plotting. If I feel like I'm not getting anywhere, I will read in a craft book on plotting or characterization and that helps.

What are your goals as a writer, if any?

I plan to work on my novel and write a few short stories. I am hoping to turn this novel into a series.

I'm a retired customer service/sales representative who has always wanted to write.. I am working on my debut novel and have a short story published in an anthology published last November.
