Here Be Dragons!

Just looked into a highly touted book recommended by Good Reads.
During a Guys' Night of the guys makes a statement.
One of his companions supports the statement...saying,
"Here! Here"
Please Fellow Writers NEVER DO THIS!
What we want is "Hear! Hear!"
The Brits used this first, and it freely translates to:
"I strongly agree." or
"What HE said!"
The other "Here" is what you answer when some one is taking attendance.
And as long as I'm kvetching:
UNLESS you grew up in Sunday Schools that used the King James Bible,
DO NOT! DO NOT! attempt to spiff your writing using King James English.
When an otherwise respectable writer uses this period dialect INCORRECTLY!!! It reflects badly on all of us.
If you really need to know how to describe child-birth write me, under separate cover, about when to use "centimeters" and when to use "sonometers".
Or ask the RN next door.
Friends don't let friends write stupid.
