Total Distance: 4 miles round trip
Total Elevation Gain: 1,600'
Altitude: 2,300' - 3,700'
Terrain Description: trail, class 3 scrambling
Approximate Hiking Time: about 6 hours
This is going to be a beginners hike and kid friendly because it will be at the pace of my 6.5-year old son. He is strong and excited to put his name in another registry. The trail has a class 3 section about 20 to 30 feet. The rest is trail with steep sections and loose rock. We'll be travelling at a slow pace due to the steepness.
We need several high-clearance vehicles for the hike. 4WD is preferable (but not required) considering the unknown condition of the Kingman Wash dirt road for 6 miles gaining 1,000 feet in elevation. The road starts two miles past the Hoover Dam bridge on Hwy 93. The hike offers amazing views of the surrounding area.
