Total Distance: 8 miles round trip
Total Elevation Gain: 2,000'
Altitude: 1,400' - 2,800'
Terrain Description: off-trail, class 3 scrambling
Approximate Hiking Time: about 6 hours
This is a neat peak south of Willow Beach offering rare backcountry opportunities in the Black Canyon region. The terrain will be on volcanic rock. Some of the rock will be loose, but most of it will be solid. We will need off-road vehicles to drive up a dirt road for about 4 miles. I placed a registry there two years ago and thus wanted to visit again. We can also look around a little as desired and even travel another drainage to make the hike a loop. Pictures of the last trip can be viewed at:
Please remember to answer the questions after RSVPing. If you are using a phone, the questions will not appear. Therefore, please check back again to answer the questions.
To participate in this outing, you must be a current, paid member of LVMC. You can obtain a membership via this link: http://www.lvmc.org/w.... The fee is $40 per year for a family/roommates or $30 per year for an individual. Please contact your organizer if you have any questions.
If you don't answer the three RSVP questions and you are not listed on the LVMC member roles I will ignore you and remove you from the trip without notice. Although, if you are new to the group and want to try us out without being a member, I welcome you as long as you contact me describing your experience for consideration on a case-by-case basis.
I am very tired and annoyed with random non-members signing up for my hikes I don't know who don't communicate with me and/or don't even show up for the hikes after I spent time corresponding.
