Spring Mountains Spring Cleaning

The LVMC is forming a group to participate in the 7th Annual Spring Cleaning in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area -- please join us for some community service that has a real visible impact in an area we all love!

Each year volunteers help clean up the mountains before the busy summer season, picking up litter that accumulated in Kyle and Lee canyons during the winter season only to be revealed by the melting snows. Last year's volunteers removed 2,230 pounds of debris!

When the date gets closer I'll be in touch with a meeting location, but plan to meet around 9:15 am to carpool to our assigned litter pick-up area. Afterwards, we'll be treated to some food and live music at a Volunteers Barbeque. Be sure to bring some clothing layers and sturdy closed-toe shoes, sunscreen/hat and water.

Please remember to answer the questions after RSVPing. If you are using a phone, the questions may not appear. Therefore, please check back again to answer the questions.

A big Thank You to Susan, Jen, Aleksandr and Seema for spending part of your Saturday to help clean up our beautiful Spring Mountains! We were among 271 volunteers who gathered 257 bags of trash -- estimated at 3,450 pounds of debris.

Thanks for posting the wonderful wildflower photos. You did a great job capturing the beautiful setting.

Hi Michelle! Can I double dip on this? I am rsvped for Spring Cleaning (aka Sweep the Peak) with Friends of Nevada Wilderness already. Is it possible to represent both groups if I work twice as hard :-)
