iOTCLE-1: Ken Burns, Founder of TinyCircuits (also, Happy Pi Day!)

What is iOTCLE??

Hey Cleveland! Ready for a tech revolution? Soon the new "Internet of Things" industry will change our lives by allowing us to connect, control and monitor "things" with our smartphones. These smart devices will rely on an internet connection to stay in constant contact with us no matter where we are in the world. Imagine preheating your oven before you leave work, or opening a garage door remotely to let your son into the house, or even having your alarm clark start your morning shower. Sound like the Jetsons? It's not! The technology exists today and product manufacturers are beginning to take notice and integrate it into their product lines. So let's chat about it! All Northeast Ohioans are welcome regardless of your background.

I apppreciated listening to his presentation. He has a lot of good ideas and it's just awesome that he engaged KickStarter for $109K in CAPEX and operations. Ready for angel investors? Keep up the good work!

Indoor Navigation Technologies are being added to traditional
Global Positioning System (GPS) and cellular radio triangulation tools to provide indoor and vertical (both indoor & outdoor) location and
directions. So far, the focus has been on WiFi-enabled mapping at shopping malls, airports, schools and other venues. Further enablements could come from BlueTooth, WiMax, digital radio and other RF tools as well as from embedded sensors (gyroscopic for direction, accelerometers for speed and barometric pressure for vertical) within mobile smart phones. It's called the "Sensor
Plus Radio" approach and has no impediments to implementation by 2014. Apple has already released its IPhone4 complete with gyroscopic sensor. The yet uncalculated potential is for 3-D motion sensing/capture and real-time tracking capabilities on the scale of millions of consumers to be applied to gaming, fitness and who knows what.
