Meet the Meetup

IMPORTANT UPDATE: You now need to pay in advance. But it's worth it...

Even if you RSVP'd for this meetup before, we need you to do so again. We now need to collect payment in advance. The good news is that for only $10, you'll now get a three-course Paella dinner. (We will also pass the hat for a tip at the meetup.)

There is a lot of enthusiasm for the group, and we are very much looking forward to meeting all of you. So please do take the time to RSVP, and enter your payment arrangements when links you to PayPal.

If you've got any questions or concerns, let us know here.

We are looking forward to a great evening.

Join the very first get together of the just created Montclair Tech and Media Startups Meetup.

Our very first event will be to actually get to know each other and what we're starting (or hoping to start). So be prepared to give a one line elevator pitch for what you're doing.

We'll also gather suggestions for what else the meet up should do when we meet again. (If you've got ideas and can't make it to this event in person, please leave them on our fresh and open message boards by clicking on Discussions on the Meetup site.)

So great to see just a vibrant tech and startup ecosystem in the Montclair area.

a great start. it was ironic to me that I had a bunch of different connections to people at the meetup from different parts of my Montclair life... even people whom I've worked with!

Fascinating group of people; featured speakers and selected topics in future will provide focus; a finger-foods/cocktail party format (at least sometimes), rather than dinner tables, would allow for more circulating

Jason, Wallace- For what it's worth, I've used paypal for years and haven't had problems. And I did a bit of research on the Meetup message boards, and organizers prefer PayPal to Amazon, which is the other option for payments.

That said, anyone who wants to pay by check is welcome to mail one to me at 11 Fairfield St, 07042. Or message me if you've got any other ideas. We want everyone to come and don't want anyone's identity stolen. -Saul

I agree with Jason. I also sympathize with you and your challenges organizing an event of this style. Since we are all local, would pre-paying at the restaurant be acceptable, short of a better, more convenient alternative?

Normally I'd be happy to pay in advance, but is there an alternative method? I and many of my friends have had some very bad experiences with lax security by Pay Pal that resulted in identity theft and additional troubles. It would be a shame to miss out on this over Pay Pal.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
