For Lazy Ass Hikers who do more than hike...
We have once again been invited to join our friends from Energized Outdoor Adventures on another bike ride. But space is limited. You might remember our last bike ride on the "Haunted" Pacific Electric Trail. That was a lot of fun and if you missed it, here's your chance to jump on.
This time we're going to ride the Pacific Electric Trail from Central Park in Rancho Cucamonga to the Rialto border.
This is a SOCIAL RIDE, good for those just getting into biking and for those who just want a relaxing ride with friends! We will meet at at Central Park on the corner or Millikin and Baseline and head EAST, on the Pacific Electric Trail - a nicely paved dedicated bike path, through Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana and all the way to the our halfway turnaround point, the edge of the Rialto border.
Since the space is limited, please don't sign up on this ride if you have already RSVP'd through the Energized Outdoor Adventures group. That way more of us get to ride.
NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO PLUS ONES OR GUESTS ON THIS RIDE! YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF LAZY ASS HIKING TO PARTICIPATE. IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND WITH YOU, HAVE THAT PERSON SIGN UP WITH LAZY ASS HIKING AND RSVP FOR THIS MEET UP. IT'S EASY TO JOIN!
The emphasis of this ride is to get a little exercise and socialize with our friends, old and new. This is not a race, or training ride, and we will leave no one behind.
This is a relatively flat ride that should not pose a problem for most riders. After the ride there will be an optional brunch/lunch at one of the Rancho Cucamonga eateries.
MILES: 18 round trip with very slight grades and some street crossings.
DIFFICULTY: Easy to low moderate depending on your conditioning and bike riding experience. This is a "no one gets left behind ride", not a race. We will ride at an easy to moderate pace.
WHAT TO BRING: Bring a bike with gears, (road, mountain or hybrid) If you are in good shape, bring your single speed bike. Bike helmets are required. Bring plenty of water for the ride, 1/2 to 1 liter. 9:00 a.m.IS THE ACTUAL START TIME OF THE RIDE, NOT THE TIME YOU SHOULD ARRIVE AT THE PARKING LOT. GET TO THE PARKING LOT AT LEAST 15-20 MINUTES EARLY TO UNLOAD/ PREPARE YOUR BIKE AND FOR INTRODUCTIONS/INSTRUCTIONS.
