Do you love brunch (and other meals) but hate getting up early in the morning? Do you want to meet new people and expand your social circle, while eating the best meal of the day? If so, this group is for you!
There is an annual membership fee of $4. We use the fee to pay Meetup's hosting cost (180$ annually), since we have no other overhead it ensures the member fee is kept low. When you are first approved for the group, you get a 30 day grace period during which you can attend brunches without paying the fee. Note that outside the 30 day free exemption, you must pay and be in good standing to attend. If after 30 days you choose not to pay dues, you will be removed from the group.
If you aren't able to attend a brunch during your month, send a message to me (Forrest) and I'll give you an extension.
Guidelines for Brunch Attendance
Since most of our events involve reservations, please do your best to attend when you RSVP. Our policy is as follows:
-You can change/cancel your RSVP for any reason up to 24 hours before any event.
-If you must cancel within 24 hours, please contact the organizer directly and explain what came up. This may allow for the reservation to be changed etc. Not contacting the organizer within 24 hours is grounds for possible expulsion.
-No shows are automatically expelled from the group. If something terrible came up and you weren't able to or didn't have time to contact the organizer, get in touch and we'll let you back in.
As a rule we don't allow +1s since we charge a small fee for membership. If you want to bring someone to an event who is not a member of the group, contact the organizer. While we're generally happy to welcome folks on a one-time basis, if they want to come regularly they must join the group and pay the fee.
Organizers decide on an individual basis which kind of waitlist to use. If the event is under an automatic waitlist (i.e. people from the list are automatically signed up when someone drops out) please be aware that you may be RSVPed for the event at any time and the usual attendance rules will apply. If you're on one of these waitlists and know you can't make it, please take yourself off.
Although it is often possible to split checks, please consult the event page as some places do not divide bills for larger groups, a few only accept cash, and finally some will only take a certain number of cards per group. In these cases please bring enough cash to pay for what you order. Unless otherwise stated, it should be possible to pay however you like.
Since our events tend to be limited in size, they often fill up quite quickly. We encourage anyone who wants to go to get on the waitlist, since many people will change their minds prior to the event. As well, we know to go more often with larger groups to places where many people want to come!
Do your best to arrive near the scheduled start time of the event, keep in mind the parking conditions in the area the event is being held and/or any metro closures. Some places are very strict when it comes to seating groups prior to the arrival of the whole party, and it's generally problematic to have to wait a long time to order etc. so it's not nice to be late. Generally speaking, we try to order within 15-20 of the posted event time even if some folks haven't arrived. Frequent excessive lateness may be grounds for expulsion.
Other Group Info
Exercise common courtesy when attending brunches, we reserve the right to expel anyone for rude or disrespectful behavior at events.
If you are interested in being an event organizer, please let me know; the more organizers we have, the more brunches we can have! It's a really fun and easy way to eat more brunches and meet more fun people!
