Leafy Greens Cafe Raw Food Meetup Group Message Board › About Leafy Greens Cafe - IMPORTANT

I wanted to let you know that things are always changing, which hopefully is not news to you! HA!
We at Leafy Greens have been in a struggle to find the RIGHT place for the restaurant. When we first started at the beach we were really excited, but as many of you know, the landlord mis-represented the place and we found we were unable to use the outdoor seating and there were violations on the fire codes there, which I wasn't comfortable with.
When we decided to move to Downtown St Pete, it was with the expectation of making things BETTER! We quickly re-opened, despite not having the lease totally worked out and, what shouldn't have been a surprise, turned into a nightmare. The lease that was presented to us after we had already opened demanded terms we had not agreed to, but even worse, the landlord had also mis-represented what equipment was actually at the restaurant too! This is a BIG problem because he is now asking us to leave because I won't sign the lease the way it is written and he is refusing to adjust the lease.
I am writing to tell you that, at this time, WE ARE STILL OPEN!!! I announced at the last meetup that we might actually be forced to close, but we are still here. It is really important that you all continue to come to the restaurant or we will have no choice but to close for good. We have to generate enough money to be able to buy the necessary equipment that we will need to move. We have found a smaller spot that has an actual parking lot too and it's only 11 blocks from our current location. We aren't sure if we can do it at this time because of the tight financial situation we are in (which is the result of having to move twice!) but I want to let you all know that we are doing everything possible to remain open long enough to make enough money to be able to relocate for a FINAL TIME!
We are dedicated to keeping raw food available in Pinellas County and we hope that you will not give up on us. We are still having the raw food meetup this Sunday and hope you will attend. If you have any questions, please ask me at the meetup. I want Leafy Greens Cafe to continue - but I need each and every person's help to do it.
If you are or know a carpenter who can build us a countertop for a reasonable price, I would appreciate hearing from you. We will most likely have to start very simply in the new location because it has no equipment at all but for all the raw foodists, you know that food processors, blenders, dehydrators and bowls that we already own are all it takes to make some amazing things! We plan to continue providing hot soups for our vegan friends too but it looks like we may be unable to cook vegan stir fries for the first little while. We have a stove but need a range hood which costs thousands of dollars to install.
Our meetup has grown to 170 people - which totally amazes me! I hope you will all do your best to support us by coming into the restaurant to eat as often as you can and to keep looking for a great place for the restaurant. I won't count on another space until I have the signed lease in my hands!
We love you all and are so grateful for all your past support.
