David, I have always struggled with these types of photos. I absolutely love how you have isolated this little branch from everything else. I also like the composition. If there was one thing I would suggest, it would be to try and get all the three branches clearly within focus. The one facing away, is distracting because of the bokeh. May suggest increasing the dof just enough to get all three branches in focus.

Thanks for your critique. The DOF increase is a really good thought. I was worried about anything above f4 not giving the bokeh I wanted. But I did not even try it to see, my bad. I am still getting used to the DOF changes with this my first digital full frame camera. Bokeh is sweet but you really have to manage DOF. Thanks for your time and thoughts, Sundaresh.

David, I 'cheat' and use the critique album to hone my photography skills - by that I mean I never offer criticism as I have so much to learn. I can appreciate Sundaresh's critique re: the one branch which is out of focus. I intend to work on this skill set myself, I WOULD like to say that the bokeh is creamy and your offering gives me a great example from which to work.

> Michael is definitely in the running for the Most Improved Photographer award not only by his pictures, but he's learned the lingo! "bokeh is creamy"
