This month's book is ‘The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared’ by Jonas Jonasson. The discussion will be chaired by Claire who was good enough to nominate it.
As always, we’ll meet from 7:30 onwards and then move upstairs to start the discussion at 8pm.
We had book nominations from Mala and Adrienne so if you have one for March be sure to bring it along.
Alternatively, send your nominations to the Mailing List : [masked] with a brief overview and why you think it would make a good book for us to discuss.
http://www.meetup.com/LeamSpaBookClub/about/
When you nominate the book you will then be invited to chair the meeting (very informal) .... or provide some questions that we can use to get the discussion going.

Can you guys let me know what the next book after this evening? Do we purchase the book ourselves? When will the next meeting be?

Neelam, the next book will be posted as the next session, which is generally the second Tuesday of the month- watch out for it in the next couple of days! And yes, members do need to find the book themselves, though many do use the library or charity shops to keep down costs. See you later. Ruth

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good holiday read? Decent standard of English, good yarn that makes you want to keep reading and isn't about beautiful women and/or handsome men...

Sally I like the jasper fforde books - the early ones especially have a good literary backbone but are quite humorous. Aldo my favourite author Mitch Albom. Good imaginative stories. Enjoy your holiday.

We didn't end up discussing doing anything for International women's day. I am up for meeting somewhere if other people are? Good discussion last night by the way!

Thanks for last night, really enjoyed it. The bookclub has already encouraged me to read more widely!

I know I wasn't there last night, but would still like to return to the Sausage - decent beer and a more relaxed atmosphere.

Sorry i didn't make it last night - I got stuck at work. Hope it went. Sadly can't make the next one as I'm away - and the book is sitting in my 'to be read' pile too which is frustrating!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
