Very informative! The innards of public sector computing are like a black box, so it's a great opportunity to see what's inside it... even if sometimes it's Pandora's

imho, the "innards' are the same as any BIG IT organisation... inhouse, outsourced etc, some a few suppliers, some every name you can mention. Government has some of the heaviest metal out there eg DWP pays "£70bn in social security payments", and delivers to some of the most vulnerable people in society - failure hurts badly - so risk mgt. governance, assurance, gating etc are intense and part of the culture for sound reasons. Reconfiguring services across the number of contractual , organisational, and technology interfaces ? plain old hard work. Succeed though and you make a real difference to many people. Policy idiocy is another matter, and IT is often the receiving end of that. http://www.computerwe...

Hey sorry I've had to drop out at the last minute. Moving house next week and I've underestimated the number of boxes! Ian - if there's any notes/slides from the talk please can you share them with the group.

Hi, is any prior experience required to join the meetup? I am interested in taking a Scrum master's course in november and I thought it might help to meet others who have an interest in Agile and start working on my knowledge as early as possible.

Not usually. There's generally a mix of abilities and experience. Plus, it's an environment that's welcoming to new folk, since it helps spread the message anyway.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
