Come learn how to be a Lean Entrepreneur & enter your mailing address in the RSVP for a chance to win a copy of the book! We're giving away 50* copies!

We'll be checking for registration at the door, so be sure to RSVP!

Schedule:

6:30-6:45: Pizza & Networking

6:45-8:00: The Lean Entrepreneur Presentation/Workshop with Brant & Patrick

8:00-8:30: Q&A

The Lean Entrepreneur Presentation/Workshop with Brant & Patrick

Brant & Patrick will share a sneak peak of the new tools (market segmentation, value stream discovery + more) and case studies in the book.

Learn:

  • How to develop rock solid market segments and why they're key to success.
  • How to document assumptions around business activities, expected customer behavior, and actionable metrics.
  • How to develop a road map of customer interaction and experimentation to validate your business model.
  • The Innovation Spectrum
  • much more!

In addition, Mike Volpe, HubSpot's CMO will be joining Brant & Patrick on stage and the 3 of them will be giving away books to many of the attendees!

After Party at MassChallenge!

And if you just can't get enough - MassChallenge is hosting an after party for Brant, Patrick & the rest of us after the event.

Why is there a Fee?

As we sometimes do with special guests who travel here from far & distant lands (or, at least, the west coast), we're charging a small ($10) fee for this event to bring Brant & Patrick back to Boston. However, at Brant & Patrick's gracious request we'll use the proceeds to give away copies of The Lean Entrepreneur as prizes to 50* of the attendees.

* actual # will be determined by how many we can buy with proceeds, we're estimating 50.

I am so glad I went to this Meetup...
The participation by Mike Volpe, CMO of Hubspot was especially interesting - as he provided a lot of real-world experience related to Brant and Patrick's presentation.

The presentation was great, targeted to products that require no investment and can go to market quickly, like software, and which can be quickly modified to meet the needs of each market segment. I'm still not sure if these methods will work in highly regulated industries where development times are years, and market testing of the actual product can only be done after the product is fully developed and approved for testing by the regulatory agency, such as the FDA.

Another resource for using the BML loop in highly regulated environments are Eric Ries' blog posts on Lean Startup in Government or google Aneesh Chopra.

I'd be interested to hear discussion of applying customer development techniques to launching new enterprise products, where customers are big but few and far between.

    • Patrick V.

Hi Alex -- we'll be more than happy to address that.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
