Business Model Canvas

"Business model innovation is not about looking back... but creating new mechanisms to create value and derive revenue." - Alexander Osterwalder

The Business Model Canvas by Alexander Osterwalder has become the de facto language of the lean startup. It allows startups to throw away their static 50 page business plans and focus on validating the riskiest unknowns of their business, and has been adopted by entrepreneurs around the world to develop their strategy with a focussed vision on validating each core assumption to build a business. It's a useful collaboration tool that can be applied in a startup, in-house, or consulting context.

In this session, Jaime Pabon will take us through his Business Model Canvas for his startup Wisehunch.

Agenda:

8:00 - 8:15 PM Registration & Networking

8:15 - 8:30 PM Introduction To Business Model Canvas

8:30 - 9:15 PM Presentation by Jaime Pabon

9:15 - 9:30 PM Q&A

9:30 - 10:00 PM Networking & Wrap-Up

About Jaime:

Jaime Pabon is a lean startup practitioner with over 10 years of international experience in multinational advertising agencies, specifically brand strategy and consumer research. He is the founder of WiseHunch.

Wisehunch is an iPad app that helps entrepreneurs plan, conduct and organize their customer development interviews.

Nice intro into how BMC is used by a start up. if anyone things it worth while i dont mind running a workshop on BMC more specifically The Value Proposition Canvas which is a secondary tool based on two elements of your business model, the customers segment and the value proposition. With the Value Proposition Canvas you can map out both in more granularity and show the fit between what you offer and what customers want.

The Customer Segment (Profile) is broken down into
      Customer Jobs
      Customer Pains
      Customer Gains
The Value Proposition (Map) is broken down into
      Products and Services
      Pain Relievers
      Gain Creators
