How do you get worldwide attention without a PR firm?

Betabrand gets global coverage all the time without the benefit of a pricey publicist.   At the root of this approach is a deep appreciation for how, why, and when people discuss ideas online.

About Chris Lindland

Chris Lindland is the founder of Betabrand.com, an online clothing company.   Their aim: to become the Kickstarter of clothing, by crowd sourcing design and releasing new products every day.

About the UnConference

We start every event UnConference style with Lean Startup Circle members sharing their knowledge in open spaces. We've had sessions such as:

• Laura Klein, author of UX for Lean Startups - Q&A

• David Bland, Principle Advisor at Neo - What do I do with this custdev data?

• Gagan Biyani & Morgan Springer, founders of Sprig - Q&A

• Alex Cowan, author of Starting a Tech Business - Storyboarding

• Mair Dundon, UX Facilitator at QuietAction - Self Persona Workshop

• Jacob Esparza, CEO of Making Friends - Lessons Learned from Steve Blank's Lean Launch Pad

Anyone can pitch a session to:

• Share their knowledge

• Discuss a topic

• Ask for help

• NO PITCHES OR SOLICITATIONS!

Beer, (real non-pizza based) food, and a good hang with great people is included thanks to the price tag. After expenses, extra proceeds go to building out LeanStartupCircle.com for the community.

Note: All tickets on sale via eventbrite.

Chris is an amazing and entertaining speaker. I wish he had tied in to Lean Startup topics a little more, but his story was quite inspirational and I definitely learned a lot.

I had the same thought, but I enjoyed it tremendously. The LS takeaways for me were: Don't build product until you have a marketing channel, use pre-orders before investing in stock. Pretty standard stuff, but the application was really interesting.
