David Bland, on Experimenting in the Enterprise

  • Aug 15, 2013 · 6:30 PM

***IMPORTANT UPDATE: Tonight's speakers have cancelled due to illness, so we are presenting a different talk. If anyone would like a refund, please email [masked]. For the rest of you, tonight's replacement talk will be given by our very own David J Bland.

"Experimenting in the Enterprise"

The life span of the S&P 500 is the shortest it has ever been in recorded history. Large organizations are dealing with extreme uncertainty that challenges the manner in which we organize, lead, visualize and deliver work. In this talk, David J Bland will explain how he works with large organizations in adopting Lean Startup, Business Model Generation and Customer Development to rethink how they create, capture and deliver value.

Key Takeaways

- How to design & prioritize experiments for your existing products
- Guidelines for defining actionable metrics to measure outcomes
- How to reduce friction in your engine of growth by tapping into passionate customers
- Guidance on how to navigate using lean startup in a large organization

SPEAKER: David J Bland

David is a startup evangelist bringing corporate entrepreneurship into large organizations. He's helping corporations transform the way in which they create and deliver value to their customers. In addition to writing and coaching, David is an active public speaker, hosts webinars and runs private & public workshops for those who want to shift from can we build it to should we build it.

6:30 - Doors open; Networking, Food & Drinks

Meetups are held at RUNWAY, a brand-new 30,000 square foot incubator and co-working space at 1355 Market Street. Tenants in the building include Twitter, Yammer, and One Kings Lane. The building is the centerpiece of a new startup hub in the mid-market section of San Francisco.

The venue is conveniently located one block away from the Civic Center/UN Plaza Station. The building has two lobbies; however, you must enter the lobby closer to the corner of 9th & Market.
