Lean Canvas, Validation Board, Epathy Canvas: A Hands on Exploration

The Lean Startup movement is rushing along, with close to a dozen books focused on some aspect or another. The second book in the collection worth looking at is "Business Model Generation" By Alexander Osterwalder. This deeply influenced the book by Ash Maurya called "Running Lean". Out of that book we see the "Lean Canvas" as a tool for helping to focus your business model.

The Lean Startup Machine events folks have developed something that they call the "Validation Board". Alexander Osterwalder has also been working on the Value Proposition Designer Canvas.

We will take the evening to explore these canvases and to work through the details of one of them based on ideas in the room. This will be a hands on event. Please come prepared to roll up your sleeves and engage in the Canvas Exploration. The event will be facilitated by John Sechrest

Nice job John. It was good to get an overview of the landscape and then dive in on the practical exercise. Our team was a blast and the presentations were helpful.

Educational. Could use better focus on the actual topics. Not being specific in a short time period loses focus for the learning curve of a Lean Canvas.

John Secrest did great job presenting the Lean Canvas and then mobilizing the small group exercise to use the approach.
