Startup Weekend and What is SWNEXT?

Startup Weekend is an intense weekend experience taking an entrepreneur from idea to revenue in 54 hours. As an organization, headquartered in Seattle, Startup Weekend coordinates and organizes over 500 events a year and has engaged over 100,000 people in the startup experience.

Danielle Reyes is a Regional Operations Manager and Global Facilitator for Startup Weekend, a rapid growth, grassroots organization that focuses on entrepreneurial education. In her role, she oversees event logistics and support in the Eastern United States, along with projects centered around community development, collaboration and training. Along with her leadership and participation in the weekend events, she has traveled to various cities around the world, providing her extensive learning opportunities about the vast cultural differences and needs between each city's entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Empowering today's leaders is a vibrant passion of hers, and she works to fortify the communities that support them through meaningful and intelligent connectedness.

Join us to have a  conversation with Danielle Reyes about the Startup Weekend process in the community.

Lean Startup Seattle is for anyone interested in the application of Lean Startup Principles and the Customer Development process developed by Steve Blank and refined by Eric Ries.  We are bringing the Seattle Lean Startup community together in a variety of formats to learn from each other. What works? What doesn't? Is lean just a buzzword? Or can it really help build businesses?

Danielle did a great job! The ice breaker was great and gave us a quick feel of what a Startup Weekend event is like. I love the idea of trying out future cofounders at an event like this.

Seems like Startup Weekend in Seattle on April 5th is sold out. Any suggestion on any participating opportunities?

Is this event at SURF or at the Easy? The meeting announcement says both. I'm guessing it's at SURF but please confirm.

I've got a scheduling conflict on 4/1, but I'm looking forward to hearing of the next SW in Seattle. 800 events this year? That's fantastic! I participated in one last summer and loved it!

Is this evening event sort of an intro to Startup weekend?

      Yes, sort of.

It is a chance to have a dialog about what it is and how it works and where they are going and how they are going to pull off 800 events this year
