@tara & @red Skip Launchrock. Go local with http://www.kickofflabs.com. #launch page could be up today. No lines or Gimmicks. :)

Tara, what was I thinking? LaunchRock is cool and all, but Kickofflabs is user friendly and gives you all the same features and the support you need. Thanks for chiming in Josh!

What's up Red. If Whimzle decides to pitch, is there visual display or just verbal pitch?

Wassup!! If? You mean "when" :) You guys definitely have to pitch! To answer your questions, for the 15 seconds, it's all about you! If you get to round 2 and 3, you'll have access to the projector to bring up your website. Not sure if we're going to do slides this time around.

Alex, Madhu is amazing to work with. As per signing up for Scotch, rock on, but right now I'm all about pitches. Hurry....only 8 spots left :)

Red, you only got 20 spots but meetup description says 30, which one is it :) I am rushing to push out new functionality for Tickethookups so hopefully I will make it in time to pitch and still have a spot open.

Oleg, great call! My error. If you're coming, then for sure pitch. On the other hand, if you don't know until last minute, then may be best to wait. Good luck and excited to hear more about Tickethookups

Are there any online resources for what should be in the 15, 60 and 120 second pitches?

Great question. I just added quick tips at the end of the description of the event. Let me know if that helps explain.

Hey Red - Is the projector just a community laptop or can people use their own... Have iPad prototype if I make round 2 or 3.

Josh, if you want to get funky w/ a projector, go for it, but I don't want to turn off the main projector to accommodate yours :( Unless you bring a screen, I'd say, plug in to the main one. HDMI/VGA

So we're calling the projector a "community machine" now? Works for me :D Yes, my lap top will be open for abuse!

Overall a really solid event. Price was right, and having an opportunity to pitch in front of investors and peers is invaluable experience. The only thing preventing me giving this 5 stars was that it felt a little overcrowded for the space.
  • John Khrapko
    It was fantastic!
  • Stefan Negritoiu
Had a great time overall. The end presentation from the featured start-up (flickmob) was too long and drawn out. Should have been timed to demo + 5 min analysis. It's amazing how presenters focus on the essentials when time constrained :)
  • Don Smith
Red was a great MC. Great participation from the attendees, too!
  • Ted
Great event, great job promoting it, well run, exciting. Two things to improve next time -- 1) ran out of beer, so the post event networking fizzled out fast. 2) The guys from Giant Thinkwell wasted time, bored us, and generally were a bad ending to the night. I wish they had a 5 minute alarm so I could get the other 25 minutes of their blabbering back and have spent it networking with the people who gave up and left midway through.
  • Dmitry Polyakovsky
Very interesting networking event. Really enjoyed presentations. Music was too loud, people weren't there for music but for opportunity to talk to each other.
  • Madhu Singh
Awesome event. Really enjoyed hearing all the pitches and the comments/questions from the judges panel.
  • Ronald S Woan
Loved the format and all the pitches! I can't understand why the FlickMob presentation was included. Especially having at the end really destroyed the positive flow of the event. Seems like it really violated the lean MVP principles unless it was needed to pay the bills.
