Introduction

Having been a sole proprietor for 15+ years, I'm completing a currently 8 months into an assignment at a large online services company, and am learning which of my "road warrior" agile skills apply to mid-lifespan this large company.

My Dream Startup... Passion (for the product, the users, and the technology). Trust (a requirement for teams to innovate). Playful fun (ditto). Making a difference in the world, or to just one person. Knows when technology is *not* the answer!

What is the best tool/technology/service to make your startup more efficient?

Open Source. Not just the languages.... but also the culture, and the accumulated infrastructure.
