Invalidate ideas on Saturday, deliver the product on Sunday

The purpose of this meetup is to convert your ideas into functioning businesses every two weeks.

Get your ideas and prepare to work on them for two days.

We team up, then run several rounds of validation and pivoting for chosen ideas until we hit what the customers want.

Then we build the product and deliver it to customers. Devs and designers, get your laptops.

By Sunday each team will have either a Minimum Viable Product, or a bunch of invalidated ideas. If we work hard, after several iterations all of us will have a great startup to work on.

Let's start working!

Congratulations for successfully implementing www.mypersonaltree.com ! This idea was implemented in other parts of the world before ( e.g. http://www.mybabytree.org/about ) and I am glad to see it coming to Toronto. Surprisingly, it is even cheaper here than in Indonesia ($5 vs $15 per tree which pays for the nursery, land, planting and care). Is it really possible to plant a tree for $5 within driving distance from Toronto?

Great! We have enough people for two teams for tomorrow! Everybody get some rest and prepare for hard and productive work tomorrow. If you have any questions,[masked]

9AM - 11PM both days. If you can't make it for the whole time - it's ok to show up later, leave earlier or disappear for a couple of hours during the day. It's all lean - no strict rules, invest as much time as you can allow yourself. The more time invested the higher the success rate.

I can't make this one, but hope to make it to another one soon. It sounds like a great event.

No, we're not limiting ourselves to any specific business types. Any viable business model that can be validated is good enough.

Are all the business ideas that are considered to be technically based?

What parts of Lean Startup Machine weekend did you find good and which parts do you feel could be better? We should use that feedback to improve the workflow during event.

    May 1, 2013

  • Yaroslav

Ok, let's invalidate, pivot and build. This will be like a lean startup machine, but without presentations or mentors. Just work in accordance with lean methodology. I'll still get coffee and probably pizza for everybody :)
