During my study medicine I was looking for more challenges and knew entrepreneurship would be a good fit. Now we (my brothers, father and I) have an online patient health record. Challenges in healthcare are big, but the opportunities even bigger....
Our company makes online software, called CareSharing, for the diseasemanagement of patient with a chronic disease like diabetes and COPD. Our main users are the health care providers. However recently we made a new product called Yicco, in which the patient will have a crucial role. With both products we make it possible to register medical data and communicate between health care providers and patients. A crucial role for patients with a chronic disease is to get involved in their own treatment plan, this is called self-management. With our products we hope to make this possible. Our company consists of 50 employees, 43 in the Cebu (Philippines) and 7 in Amsterdam. One of the brothers lives in Cebu and the other two in Holland. The match of doctors and engineers in the board makes it easier to translate the real needs of our users into easy to use software. 'Keep it simple', is one of our most important goals.
Especially with our new product Yicco, which is a platform for healthcare apps, we like to embrace the methode of leanstartup. With CareSharing we already knew quite some things about the market, the users and the needs. With Yicco we think we know the market, however involving 'the patients' as customer is a totally different story. We need to test our assumptions and pivot....I think with joining this group a lot of experiences and inspirations can be shared!
