7:30pm-8:45pm Milonga Workshop!
This workshop will focus on milonga, which is one of the trio of dances that make up Argentine tango. The trio of dances is tango, vals, and milonga. Two levels of classes will take place simultaneously, one for beginners and one for experienced tango dancers. Richard will teach one class and Debbie the other. What will be taught in each class will be demonstrated and you can pick which level you would like to join.
The word 'milonga' has several meanings, depending on the context in which it is used. It can be used to refer to a special style of dance, a particular type of music, and, also, a social dance where tango, vals, and milonga music is played. At this workshop, you will learn how to dance the style of dance known as milonga to special milonga music and you will get to practice what you've learned at the social dance (aka, a Milonga) after the workshop!
In addition to learning steps & variations, the main highlight of this workshop will be 'How to apply a quick-quick-slow rhythm to milonga to increase musicality.' What you learn will make even the most basic of steps, come to life! We will be dancing to a variety of music, with a focus on alternative and nuevo songs. Learning to dance milonga is easy, fun, and an added bonus is that everything you learn in this milonga workshop, can be applied to tango and vals too!
8:45pm-till whenever the group wants! Mostly Alternative Music Milonga (social dance)!
We will start off with a short practice (aka, guided-practica) to make sure the newbies know what to expect and, then, we will have a Milonga (social dance) featuring mostly alternative and nuevo music. The songs that will be played will be conducive for practicing the milonga steps that you learned in our workshops with occasional sets (aka, tandas) of tango and waltz (aka, vals) music too. Afterwards, we may go out-on-the-town!

Econo Lodge Motel
This motel is reasonably priced, very close to where we hold our dance workshops, and super-close to where we meet to eat. Meetup members, Colin & Jeane, stayed here last year and highly recommend it!
If you'd like to rent a condo, here are two options to check out. Most condos are located in a convenient location for our workshops and meeting up at restaurants.
Wyndham Extra Holidays
Meetup members, Tim and Anita, stayed in a Wyndham condo last year, and highly recommend it!
Sunetha Properties is a local realty business that offers condo rentals too. You may want to compare prices and amenties with the above condo option.
