This group has something for every current and future chess player. For those new to the game or just wanting to get back into it, I offer inexpensive group instruction. Through a series of three two-hour lessons, taught at our Saturday afternoon meetups, you will learn everything you need to know to play good chess. The three lessons are cumulative, so new members need to take them in sequence to get the most out of my instruction.
We also feature open play at our meetups, where those who are more experienced can play casual and friendly games against each other while I am teaching the newer players. In addition, we have a weekly gathering (currently on Monday nights) for those who want to play even more frequently; lessons are not offered at these events but many players are willing to help and discuss during games. We welcome all ability and experience levels, rated or unrated, and we have players ranging from beginners all the way up to USCF Master strength in the group. If you come for games, please try to bring a board and set (and clock if desired, though one is not necessary) so that we have enough for everyone.
Whether you are new to the game, first played it long ago, or have been playing for years, chess can become a lifelong hobby. I have taught chess for almost 20 years here in Colorado and I am willing to discuss individual lessons for you or your children as well. Come join us for a game - it's your move!
