8 Week Social Dancing Crash Course!

Fear of putting on your dance shoes? Fear not! If you can walk, you can dance, and I'll show you how. Come to class and let's boogie! In this course, we will cover the 4 most common social dances: Salsa, Swing, Cha Cha, and Foxtrot. In eight weeks, we will cover several basic steps in each dance, as well as enough fundamental technique to get you whirling on the dance floor with ease.

FYI, if you do not want to attend the entire series and only want to join for one or two of the dances, that is just fine. I have created individual Meetups for each of the dances, so just go back to the Upcoming Meetups, and select the dance that you are interested in.

Let me know if you have any questions, okay?

    Hi everyone!

Thank you again to those of you who came to the Meetup on Monday. I was so glad to see you all there!

As promised, I have posted a video of a review of what we covered in class. Here is the URL to the Facebook page:

    https://www.facebook.com/BravoDancingcom?ref=hl

The video for our class will be the very first one posted. If you would like, go ahead and "Like" the page so that you know when I post videos. I also post reviews for other classes I teach, so don't get confused.

I hope the video is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.

    :-) Lorena

Thanks for setting this up! I do wish we could focus on fewer dances than 4 though. I just wonder how much ill remember in 8 wks having learned 4 diff styles. Perhaps in the future you could have 8 wk sessions on just one or two types of dances... Just an idea :)

People tell me salsa is the big one in the LA dance scene so I am more inclined to learn that more than the others, though i know chacha is also fun :) I know others who mentioned interest in West Coast Swing as well because it lends itself more to pop music like contemporary R&B rather than traditional swing. Not sure if its true but that's what I heard. And thanks for taking my feedback into consideration, looking outward to next week!

Salsa and West Coast are the two that I am leaning toward myself, as they both have thriving social scenes here in LA. I am also hoping to get some interest in the ballroom dances, and my very favorite club features ballroom dancing. However, I will teach whatever the group wishes. As we near the end of the course, and everyone has had a chance to sample the different styles, I'll survey the group to see what we should do next. If there is enough interest, we can always do a couple of different classes that run at the same time, in case the group is quite split.

I was so happy with the turn out! This rating, is of course on the part of the organizer, so I am commenting on the turn out and how much I enjoyed it. Everyone did a really good job in class, and I was very pleased with how everyone was looking by the end of the session. I am excited to see how we progress next week!
