Android Debugging Workshop

As an Android developer, do you wish you could solve the issues on your own?   Does seeing cryptic error messages from the compiler or IDE want to make you run for hills?   Do you wonder if you're the only one who spends hours trying to get your apps to run?

This workshop is geared for Android beginners who have already built one basic Android app who want to develop or enhance their debugging skills.  You must have Eclipse or Android Studio along with a working Android emulator installed.

In this workshop, we'll also talk about some of the approaches and mentality you'll need to have to troubleshoot your own code.  We will go through a few exercises in which you will have to fix issues in intentionally broken Android programs.  We hope this workshop will allow you to feel more self-sufficient and capable at uncovering the issues in your own Android programs.

Please make sure to bring your own laptop and power cable.  WiFi and power will be provided.   You must signup and be on the final list in order for security to permit you in the building.

The event will be led by instructors Ari Lacenski and Roger Hu. Two other teaching assistants will be helping out as well!  Coffee, Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Email us at [masked] if you have any questions. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Thank you all for attending! Because it was the 1st time we ever tried this curriculum, we'd really love to have your feedback. If you can fill out this survey while you still can remember how you felt about the workshop, we'd appreciate it. Thanks again!

Is street parking free on Saturdays or can you recommend and car parking location

    August 1, 2014

    • Roger H.

You are best to check http://sfpark.org/ to check availability and rates if you're driving. There is street parking further past 4th Street, as well as Terry A. Francois Blvd and 3rd Street. There is no Giants game tomorrow so the dynamic pricing should probably be $1-2/hour.
