iOS Tour plus Hands-on Session

2-hour iOS Hands-on Learning Session where you can get a tour of the iOS platform, ask questions and hack on iOS projects.

So you want to be an iOS developer...

If you are interested in meeting other people learning to build iOS apps, building a project or you just want a quick tour of what it takes to be an iOS app developer, come check out this session. There are two sections for this meetup.

For those totally new to iOS development, we will be providing a high-level tour of iOS development concepts with a live demo and answer any questions you may have along the way.

For those of you that have been here before, we will discuss the process of building typical iOS apps and provide a practical introduction to key topics through a collaborative development session.

For those of you already familiar with high level iOS concepts, we will also have a separate corner where you can work on your own iOS tutorials or projects and ask any questions you might have.

Tim and Nathan thanks for hosting this meet up. Also, was wondering if there are people interested in meeting regularly to go through the Stanford iOS development course? Would love to meet people (beginners and experienced alike) who are serious about learning objective-C and who would love to help others and get help from others as they become more acclimated to iOS development. Tim, I know you briefly mentioned this yesterday night, and would love to see it happen.

Not exactly what I expected, but definitely worth the time spent. Going from zero iOS experience to building a primitive tip calculator in an hour is not bad at all. I'll be back for more :)

Thanks for coming! Out of curiosity, what were you initially expecting? We are open to feedback.

I expected to spend some time working on a chosen application in a group setting. Just to be clear, I'm not saying that I didn't like this meetup. The beginning was exactly what I thought it would be, which was a quick intro to IDE. However, I was expecting a "second part", which would involve breaking into groups and starting a specific, ongoing project.

The two way approach was great. Beginners can start learning to build quickly and little bit more experienced people can talk and get feedback from Nathan. Very good event guys, I appreciate it.
