York's Chocolate story offers 1-hour guided tours where we can learn about the history of this famous chocolate-making city and even taste some little delights.

It's £8.50 per person if you book in advance and I think there's a further 15% off that if you book online.

IMPORTANT: WE ARE MEETING AT 2PM FOR THE 2:30PM TOUR, SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU BOOK YOUR TICKETS FOR THE 2:30PM TOUR. BOOK YOUR TICKETS FROM THE FOLLOWING LINK

You're all very welcome and thanks for coming. It was a lovely group and good to see so many new faces there too. Maybe we should organise a chocolate fondue party sometime soon... :)

Amazing everyone turned up!!! the power of chocolate :)

Blimey - what a night! And day of course. The chocolate museum told most there is to tell about cocoa, and let us taste quite a bit. Then the hardcore cocoa-believers went to the river Ouse for some lager and sunshine. More crawling through York, the lovely cafe Rouge, an unnamed pub, and then we had to run for the train! Steve, nice sharing the last pint with you at Leeds rail. Linds, thanks for organizing! Cheers #

    Hi all,

some bits of info for folks
York council have decided to dig up Kings Square right outside York Chocolate story, so there is only a narrow pavement (2m or so) directly outside and a large proportion of the square is blocked off. I am not sure where folks will meet, but I shall be there about 1410

Lendal Bridge over the Ouse is closed to cars and motorbikes between 1030 and 1700 with ANPR cameras to enforce it, so unless you are feeling particularly generous to York.....

I believe there is a reduction for folks who come by train. You need to keep both parts of your ticket to prove entitlement, but what the the other details are, I am not sure. There is something on the website or you can ask when you get there

    1 · September 7, 2013

    • Lindsey

Thanks for the info Julian. I'll be there just before 2pm to keep an eye out for people, so I'll try and find somewhere sensible to stand. My number is[masked] in case anyone needs it. See you all there!

Lindsey I see there are some new members who would like to attend, do they have to buy there ticket online for the 2.30pm tour or can they buy at the venue?

    September 2, 2013

It's safer to buy tickets in advance, just in case they sell out for the 2:30pm tour.
