Hat Fitz and Cara Robinson @ Headingley Music Festival

  • Jun 28, 2013 · 8:00 PM

"This dynamic duo's combination of hill-style country blues with old time folk, has seen them become firm favourites on the international festival circuit. Get yourself down there for some amazing acoustic blues"

Fitz is an Australian and has done the blues circuit in Oz for yonks, Cara, now 'is missus, is Irish with a background in soul/motown (has been a backing singer for Corrine Bailey Rae and Jamiroqui) together they do a unique take on roots folk and blues music. They are based in Oz so don't get here often.

The New Headingley Club, £8. Any takers

I thought they were brilliant. Both such talented musicians...and singers.

What great gig. About 2 hours of music and chat. TBH I went to see Hat because he plays the same guitar style as me (though better obviously) and he was good, but in the live show environment Cara dominated proceedings far more than on CD. She stole the show. What a voice!

It's in the function room. They are not ready yet, doing a sound check but don't appear worried about being overwhelmed. I'm in the bar by the snooker tables for the next 10 or so

Just to be clear. The club is at 56 St. Michael's ROAD, LS6 3BG. Going from The Skyrack end it's on the right before the North Lane/Cardigan Road junction. It's set back from the street through a gateway. From streetview I can't see a sign. Used to be British Legion Club

Hi, Yes, we can meet in the upstairs bar if you like. I'll be there for 7.45 p.m. it can get quite full in the downstairs room. The Roots gigs are always popular. See you then!.
