Q: What’s the group about? A: We’re about bringing music and art lovers together for gigs, concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions, comedy shows, social gatherings, in fact anything relating to the arts regardless of genre. Most events are in the Leeds and surrounding area but not limited to that. We’re an eclectic group so there is something for everyone.
Q: Is it free to join? A: Yes. However, meetup charge around £45/50 every 6 months, paid by the organiser, to host the group. Voluntarily contributions every now and then help to keep the group going.
Q: I have an idea for an event, what do I do? A: Everyone in the group is free to post and host their own events. This is positively encouraged. Simply click on the Schedule New Meetup link and fill in the details.
Q: Do I have to get my own ticket? A: Yes.
Q: Where do I get tickets? A: For most Leeds based gigs, tickets are available from Jumbo Recordshttp://www.jumborecords.co.uk/ ) and Crash Records ( http://www.crashrecords.co.uk/ ) and in doing so you’ll be supporting local independent record shops. Most venues and artists have their own websites with information on where to get tickets and there are various mainstream ticketing websites. Google is your friend here.
Q: I've said I'm going but can no longer make it. A: Be courteous to the other people going and change your attendance to not going so they know not to expect you.
Q: I’m promoting an event, can I list it? A: No. The group is aimed at people who enjoy going to events to find other people to go with. If you’re not intending to go you shouldn’t list it.
Q: Someone on the group is sending me annoying/abusive messages, what can I do? A: Contact one of the groups organisers and they’ll look into it and take appropriate action.
