Great songs and stories, lovely playing

One of those gigs that was about more than the music. Table lights, serried ranks of differently tuned guitars and most remarkable of all - no talking while he played.

It was the Brudenell, Ken. But not as we know it. Thanks to the meetees for the conversation (hushed and reverent as befitted the occasion).

It's all tables and chairs! Sat 2nd table from right. Will keep the 2 seats next to me best I can. It's filling up.

I just realised I hadn't actually bought my ticket, oops! Luckily wegottickets still has a handfull so sorted now. phew!

Got ticket (or rather booking ref. with so many 1s in it that it hurt my eyes to read). Can you send me a number closer the time David as even if you stand on the hallowed ground of "Ken's pillar" I think we're both going to have trouble recognising each other from our profile pics.

    October 11, 2013

    • David

Probably close to pillar. I'm tall, bald 52 and my partner Cathy a rather gorgeous redhead. We both wear glasses!

      November 13, 2013

    • Christine

Is that ALL of your number David? It looks a bit short to me. Are some mobile numbers shorter than others? Anyway you will be easy to spot what with you wearing glasses. I'm going to aim for 7.300 which means I'll probably be there for 8.

Hi guys, new to this site - very excited about tomorrow! Will I find you all by the pillar?

    November 13, 2013

    • Tony S.

I should think so. My phone is[masked]

      November 14, 2013

    • Christine

Ha, there will be a blue plaque on it one day - "Ken's pillar". You have already got a ticket haven't you Myriam as it sounds like it's a sell-out.

So I know it's a bit sacrilegious to ask on this group but is the support act worth turning up early for? What time are you guys planning on getting there?

    November 13, 2013

    • Tony S.

I don't know who the support band are as yet. Will probably get there around 8.

Oh well it's reminded me to put this up for any one needing to make their mind up: http://www.bbc.co.uk/... I'm not that convinced by it so it's a good job I got my ticket early for once. See you near the pillar?

    • David

Watch the venue details - according to Ben's Facebook page this is sold out and they might be looking at another venue. Will keep you posted!

Lazy emoticon needed as usual. Do we know what he's playing? I love that track on Pillows and Prayers but that's going back a bit, ahem ahem. Is it new stuff or reworkings of former glories?

My recollection is that it's stripped down stuff going back to pre-EBTG days. Just checked Brudenell. Going back to earliest influences with new guitar tunings and ease himself back into live performing. Has new album coming soon. I follow him on twitter and he's been working on album recently

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
