The Lock In - Demon Barber Roadshow, Barnsley

Ken suggesting an arts event? whatever next? Anyway, what I know about dance I can write on the back of a postage stamp and still leave room for my name and address, but have always been into the British Folk tradition and Morris, and am really interested in this amalgam of Folk, Morris, Clog, Rapper and hip-hop dance with music set in a pub after-hours lock-in. Anyone else fancy?

Its on at Barnsley Civic on Saturday 16th Feb. With 20 dancers and musicians they can only tour with Arts Council funding and in the current climate this might be the last chance to see it.

Another 5 and it made me google clog lessons. There's a Clogfest in Skipton in July! Especially loved the beatboxer Grace Savage and the pool cue "sword" dance.

It's a great spectacle which is full of high-energy dance routines that blend together surprisingly well despite their different origins. I think a lot of people would enjoy this - even though they wouldn't necessarily expect to! In fact I'd defy anybody to remain unmoved by the entertainment value of this show.

I thought that was great. I'm not much in to dance or theatre and was a bit concerned where it would be on the nerdy to worthy scale, but hands up, a thoroughly entertaining evening. The dancing was stunning as was the beat-boxer, the music was good but it took a back seat to the dance. The show is in Harrogate on Monday and Tuesday if you fancy it.

Now, will I go to DERT2013 (Dance England: Rapper Tournament) on March 9th? tempted..

Ken. Have you ever considered learning to dance the Morris? It's easier than you think and I can introduce you to a couple of sides wanting members. J

Ha ha I can't even dad-dance these days. To outrageously misquote Frank Zappa, I'm glad Morris dancing is there but I don't necessarily want to do it :-)

Well if there is any audience participation on the night I might try and volunteer you. Why not wear a white suit garlanded with flowers just in case? PS will ring you re journey tomorrow eve presuming you're not gigging for once?

Yes, I'm going to this one with my partner. I've seen it before in Leeds - it's brilliant - but she hasn't so should be a good night!

We-ell. I liked the dancing and the music sounded good but that audience over-enthusiasm stuff felt a bit fake and cringy...but it was the guy doing the stereotypical landlady role that really put me off.

    How much?
Barnsley is easier for US to get to btw.
